Prestec are currently undertaking the waterproofing works on the Camden Lock Village development for J Coffey Construction. Once completed, the village will feature eight new buildings between three and nine-storeys in height, housing a new canal-side market, cafes, restaurants, a cinema, 195 residential units, a food quarter and commercial office space.
J Coffey Construction are a family run business and were established in 1991. They offer a full construction service but specialise in concrete, groundworks and structural alterations.
Prestec, having been involved in the project from the first design stage, are currently in the process of installing circa 17,000m2 of Delta cavity drainage membrane over four basements and 24 railway arches. The Delta system is a waterproofing solution that meets the clients requirements as, unlike a fully bonded cementitious system, it isn’t rigid and can cope with the vibration from the railway above.
The project is expected to take 16 months and to be completed early 2018. To date, this is Prestec’s largest and most prestigious Delta membrane project.
