Burton Albion had a successful win on Tuesday 28th August 2018 against Aston Villa in the 2nd round of the Carabao Cup.  Liam Boyce scored the winning goal in the 52nd minute, after driving the shot in that took a slight deflection as it flew past Andre Moreira.

The Brewers continued to attack with Marcus Harness and Marvin Sordell getting into some promising positions and stretching the Villa defence without finding a killer touch inside the box.

Albion finished with ten men though after Kyle McFadzean was sent off for handball on the line in the 89th minute before Harry Campbell produced his heroics by saving a last minute penalty, securing the win for the Brewers.

The Brewers now face Burnley at home in the third round of the Carabao Cup on Tuesday 25th September 2018, with a 7.45pm kick off.
